The online training with Emma takes the planning and aimless wondering around the gym out of my training and allows me to just focus on working hard in the gym. Emma has worked with me to create programmes individual to my goals and takes into consideration any injuries and fitness/strength level. I can now train with confidence knowing that my programmes are catered for me. No more worrying that I am not using my gym time as efficiently as possible. I get new programmes monthly which helps avoid getting bored and keeps you motivated and if motivation does slip Emma is always on hand to pick up on this, give me a nudge but also be on hand to find out if there is a reason for the dip. Having the online training programme is a must for me to stay motivated and focused, I do not miss the unstructured approach I used to have to gym sessions. Lastly if you come up against a problem or have a question about an exercise or your training in general you can be confident that Emma will have the solution! Worth every penny.

I’ve been online training with Emma for well over a year now having signed up as I was looking for a programme to follow whilst training at home during lockdown and decided to continue with it once the gyms reopened. I’ve trained with weights on and off for over 10 years now and whilst I have a good knowledge of different exercise types, I don’t have the expertise to pull together a progressive programme. The app is really easy to use and Emma is really great at listening to my feedback, adapting the programme to suit my goals, available time and preferences whilst also giving encouragement however small my progress. She changes my programme every 4-5 weeks so it never gets boring but yet stays consistent enough to maintain results and make gradual strength gains. I started with Emma because I needed to get fit for a specific fitness test. Being a beginner to exercise, I didn’t know where to start. I told Emma what the fitness test required and she came up with a plan for each session. She trained me to do exercises I wouldn’t have thought of trying – and definitely wouldn’t have attempted doing. But she gave me the confidence to try different exercises and kept me motivated. Emma taught me that having a positive state of mind is key to achieving anything. Although my goals have now changed, I’m keeping up with the training and using the knowledge I gained from training with Emma.

I first approached Emma about personal training in May 2011 as I was getting married later that year and wanted to ‘tone up’ for my wedding day. I’d already lost some weight through a slimming club but my results had stalled, despite going to the gym regularly and doing a lot of dance classes. I’d seen Emma training clients at my gym so I decided to get in touch with her. To say I was nervous before our first session doesn’t even come close to explaining how I felt – I was terrified. The thought of using weights and equipment I’d never tried before (and in public) was really daunting, but Emma made me feel instantly at ease. She had me doing exercises I’d never tried before....and enjoying it! After that first session I was hooked and really looked forward to seeing what I’d be doing each week. Emma’s creativity with her programming is always challenging and she knows exactly how hard to push me. And she gets results – since training with Emma I’ve lost 2 stone in weight (and kept it off), dropped 3 dress sizes and can’t quite believe everything I have achieved with her support and encouragement.
About a year after I started training with Emma, she encouraged me to enter a Powerlifting competition. I didn’t really think I’d do very well, but entered for the experience and came away with four Welsh records to my name and 1st place in my weight category. Not only that, but I was spotted to join the Welsh Powerlifting Team and compete at the 4 Nations in November 2012. I compete regularly now and am already looking forward to representing Wales again at the 4 Nations 2013 in Northern Ireland.
For me it’s become more than just about what I weigh and a dress size. Strength training has also brought balance back into my life; I used to use up all my energy in work and spend a good part of my evenings or weekends worrying about work. Training with Emma and following her programming on my own made me realise that my life wasn’t all about my job, but it was about me as well. And like most women, I used to beat myself up mentally if I was ‘bad’ – eating chocolate, not going to the gym, etc. Emma’s nutritional advice has taught me so much about making healthy choices when it comes to my eating habits that I no longer have to think about making those choices, nor do I worry if I do indulge every now and then. As a result I’m much happier with me as I am.....not ‘me but a bit thinner’.
I couldn’t care less about the number on the scales anymore. I’m fitter, faster, healthier, stronger and happier than I’ve ever been so I’m not going to let the number on the scales moving up and down change how I feel about myself. I’m doing things I never would have dreamed of 2 years ago. I care about what my body can do more than that number now. My gains in physical strength have given me confidence in and out of the gym and that’s all thanks to Emma.
Elise W's Story
I started training with Emma in October 2013. My motivation at the time was stress reduction and to enjoy training again.
After a few weeks of training, I had my motivation back and found new goals. I wanted to get my starting line position back in my hockey team. Emma tailored my training to make it hockey specific and within 2 months I was starting line defender within my club indoor hockey team representing wales.
Training didn't stop there, having made it to my goal, I needed to maintain my position.
Now, 6 months later I am a completely different player. My speed and agility has improved to the point where my coach has praised the change - it's not easy getting a compliment for him! My overall fitness has greatly improved and my body shape has changed.
For the first time I managed to go to a European tournament and play all games without muscle injury! This was all due to my physical fitness and preparation thanks to my training programme.
I never gave much credit to personal training before, and I can only comment on Emma, but if your even thinking about it my advice is do it!! You will not be disappointed!!

Nia Thomas's Story
From the very first consultation right through until my final session, Emma and her team are professional, engaging and highly motivational. They clearly love what they do which makes every session fun and enjoyable. I first went to Emma because I wanted to try something new and was concerned about my body fat percentage which seemed a bit high for my height and weight. The weight wasn't shifting despite running a couple of half marathons and taking part in cardio activities on a regular basis. Weight training was a whole new experience for me and I was all prepared to get rid of my bingo wings! Emma explained how the sessions would work and encouraged me to follow her body change challenge diet to get the best results possible. I was playing the piano at two weddings a few months later and was determined to feel confident walking up to the front of the church. I attended two sessions each week and within one month, I was already seeing the results. I felt happier and healthier and for the first time, I could see some definition in my arms. When times got tough, Emma was there to get me back on track and to re-visualise my goal. I've lost 10lbs in total and have a size 8 waist for the first time in my life! I will definitely be returning to Emma for more sessions ahead of my wedding next year and in the meantime, I feel I have gained the confidence to go it alone at my local gym. Emma is my first ever personal trainer and I made an excellent choice, even if I do say so myself! I read Emma's testimonials before I called so perhaps a little breakdown of my thoughts may help you in your fitness journey.

Reasons why that was important to me:
- Being a woman myself, I wanted my trainer to know what it's like to train as a woman. As my interest was in becoming strong, and men's and women's strength levels are different, this was an important factor for me.

What I was expecting:

I am not a weight-loss story but that wasn't what I went to Emma for. I wanted to be strong. I can honestly say I am PB'ing on the regular and that is highly addictive! Emma has shown me how I can become the strongest ever me and I'm not even done yet. She keeps sessions fresh so you're not doing the same exercises all the time and her supportive yet pushy nature was exactly what I wanted. I wasn't interested in a drill-sargeant but I also wanted someone to notice when I can be pushed that little bit further. She actually makes me feel like she's MY personal trainer. But it's ok, I'll share her with you :). There's no need to be intimidated by the bank of supplements in reception or the muscly people. I've never seen so many smiles in a gym. And Emma's gay-friendly too. I'm confident in saying to anyone looking for a trainer, stop looking and give Emma a call. She will make you work but you will walk away with new gym skills and the confidence to own the equipment at your own gym. Go get yours!

I had a back injury two weeks into my plan (nothing to do with gym work) and it took a lot longer to heal. Emma changed my workouts to accommodate my injury, which allowed me to train without aggravating my back. This allowed me to get back on track with training, eating and general well being.

The 12 week challenge was exciting but pretty daunting for my husband and I. We'd seen some of the photo's of previous people and their results were amazing! You always think that those who can achieve that kind of look have nothing but time on their hands. We wondered if we could give the same level of commitment. We have two children, Harry is 10 and Ellie 8, I work part time and study with the open university, Jeff runs his own business and we're renovating three apartments in west wales which will be a holiday letting business life is manic!!
At first the diet took a bit of getting used too but we were never hungry. The workouts were short and sharp and easily fitted into our lifestyle. As the weeks passed, we got fitter and stronger and the weight loss took care of itself!
We were both over the moon with our results. If we can do it, anyone can!

I started training with Emma after reading about her on the website of U-Fit and thought she sounded committed to training people to look and feel better about themselves and that is exactly what she has done for me.
I have only been training with Emma for 3 months but have noticed a great improvement in body and mind.
After being in a rut for quite some time and enduring a family crisis I wanted to improve my appearance , I have since dropped a dress size and I am gaining muscle tone I never thought I would get back after years of not excercising.

Having self-taught & self-motivated myself to being a regular attender of a gym for a little over a year, I plateaued, no new results, a lack of motivation, quite simply the gym was becoming a “drag”. If I didn’t do something about it I know I would quit. It was time to get some help from a professional.
